Hi all we've started caravaning again after a break of 14 year, I haven't joined the caravan club yet but I've looked at there route planner for a trip to the Scottish borders from the storage yard at Ashington Northumberland, now the route they've planned means crossing the mitford bridge at Morpeth which i think will be to narrow for the caravan , are these route planners usually right thanks in advance

Welcome to the Forum.

You have just discovered the flaws in on online guides that don’t understand caravanning.

Looking at the satellite views of the bridge, not sure its exact dimensions, not for me.
As you will know there are many routes on main wide roads from Ashington to Scotland 😉

Never trust sat nav or Route planners unless they are specific to caravanning.
Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Welcome to the forum, looking at Google maps and street view, the Mitford bridge is tight, and has priority from the south. But it is rated at 8 tonnes. You would need an assistant to hold back the traffic so you could cross.

There must be a better route to where you are going.
