Newbies

Evening all,

Well Mrs Zeb has bought for us a Swift Archway Woodford which is a few years old but decided to see whether we would enjoy the lifestyle.
As you expect there were a few things to put right in the old van first, but we ventured to Derbyshire over the last few days and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom.
The experience of learning a new hobby is great fun and now the thought of finding why the loo won't flush (I have seen loads of suggestions on this forum) is something that I will get in working order before forking out money. I am incredibly practical and a joiner to boot, so I can turn my hand to most things.

I look forwards to sharing our stories and caravan fixes with everyone.
Speak soon.
Zeb

Welcome Zeb, and the boss, if your practical then most things are "sortibale" but gas needs a good leak check to be "safe." Enjoy yourselfs.

Thanks EH52ARH
The van came with a service so should be ok for the next few months.
I will make sure it gets a service when it's due, but thanks for your concern.

After looking on this forum and some videos too I checked the fuse first as this was the simplest to start with anyway. Initially this was ok. Then disassembled the push button assembly on top of the loo cistern. Button checked out ok too and I was getting power to the button. Just the pump left. Took out the pump and it was seized up. I managed to turn it though manually with a screwdriver a few times, then tested it out using the button and presto! it whirred to life. £30.00 saved and job satisfaction. Thanks to all here at PC for advice.
Zeb.

Zeb , that the sort of thing to help all folk , our caravans getting to the point where we will start to have problems and will need help and , or give help. Just enjoy.

Hi all.

Seems I registered on this site many years ago and never came back, so here I am.

I’ve been a caravaner for many years, my first van being a Monza 1800, being towed by a (then) brand new Austin Montego. A few breaks for kids etc along the way.
