Hello everyone!
It's nice to meet you.
My name is Lesley Fox, I'm 28,married to Iain (32 but don't tell him I told you) and we travel with our 4 year old jack russell/collie cross- Lucy.
We reccently purchased a Sterling Eccles Jade 2000 2 berth caravan and we are currently towing her with a Ford Focus.
Iain has camped all of his life and his parents are now site staff for c&cc - anyone who has been to Keswick this year may have met them.
I was introduced to camping shortly after being introduced to Iain and we started in a tent. I love camping and think that campers can be the friendliest of people. I drive Iain mad becuase I get so excited every time we go on a trip.
Lucy was introduced to camping at 4 months old and took to it like a duck to water. She loves people and other dogs and has a passion for jumping in muddy puddles and chasing ducks into lakes - which explains why I keep my upholstry covered.

Would love any and all advice on dog friendly sites and any pubs that are nearby she would be allowed to go into.
Thanks
Lesley

Hi Lesley - I'm sorry, I just replied to say welcome to Practical Caravan Forum - and how dogs and caravanning go together! However, my post just appeared and then disappeared again!
Some dog friendly sites are Rivendale in Derbyshire, and the Quiet Site at Ullswater (Lake District) - both favourites of Meg, our border collie. Both take Camping Cheques so a pitch for two people, car and caravan, awning and electricity, and a dog of course, will cost just £13.95 per night. Both are in great dog-friendly areas - with many local pubs not minding quiet dogs. There are loads of lovely dog walks all around both sites - and the Tissington Trail runs right past the Rivendale site.
Caravan Club CLs are generally dog-friendly, as are a lot of Caravan Club sites - Meg also loved Baltic Wharf at Bristol when she came with us to our son's Graduation ceremony! (Mind you that was some years ago now!)

Hi Lesley and Iain and welcome to the Practical Caravan forum
It's always particularly nice when younger caravanners take the time and trouble to say hello even though your family are steeped in our hobby and you are probably very experienced caravanners who could teach us old 'uns a thing or two.
Way back in the mists of time I was a dedicated tenter and I enjoyed every minute of it ......... but I do love our nice warm caravan...

Let us know how things are going from time to time, I'm pretty sure that one or two of us will know of some good caravanners pubs where dogs are welcomed.
The jumping into muddy puddles and chasing ducks worries me slightly - I did all of that when I was a kid

Happy Caravanning
