I delivered a Lunar Chateau to a customer on Saturday in Norfolk.I think it was the most well behaved van I have ever towed , something I sure is down to the extra long A frame.

Why is this not used more often ?

Indeed - why not.

In fact, why not concentrate on achieving European levels of build quality rather than giving away free TVs? Or plastic panels that don't stress crack rather than fitting microwave ovens.

It's down to design, engineering and marketing...

I suspect it also has something to do with UK caravan manufacturers wanting to offer a maximum of interior space in a minimum overall length. Maybe minimising overall length is not quite so important to Continental customers.
