Nissan Xtrail 2x4 and 4x4? Are they the same vehicle or....

In the Nissan data for new Xtrail we notice there appears to be a choice between 2x4 or 4x4 for the 2.2dci. We presume these to be two types of vehicle on the market? If this is the case how do we tell the difference as most adverts don't mention in the spec for example on Autotrader. We phoned a Nissan dealer today and they thought it was all 4x4 and the same vehicle, in which case the brochure makes no sense and is confusing as it qoutes a different kerb weight and 0-60 for the two vehicles?

Help please!

They are both basically the same vehicle. One just has only one driven axle, the other two. The 4x2 is only available in conjunction with the base SE spec.

Ok so basically any 2.2 diesel should be 4x4, thankyou Lutz...you seem to know more than the Nissan Dealer we spoke to today who said they are all 4x4!

That Vauxhall Zafira SRI 1.9 Auto Courtesy Car is growing on me...dam stupid noseweights!

No, the 2.2dCi is also available with the SE spec, so not all 2.2dCi's need necessarily be 4x4.

OK got you thanks. It was only the Sport or SVE spec that we interested in so looks like we will be fine with any we see on Autotrader. Ref the weiht discrepencies on what is publised in the handbook, i presume we are ok on a match for this and our van 1150MIRO 1350MTLPM, I did check on whattowcar and all seemed fine?

My data tells me that the kerbweight of 4x4 version of the 2.2cDi is somewhere in the region of 1600 to 1700kg so you'd have an ample margin.
