**PASTED FROM A NEWS STORY ON THE HOME PAGE**

THE CARAVAN CLUB has announced it will not be providing a temporary campsite during the Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show 2012 at London ExCeL.

It had been widely expected that provision for overnight camping would be provided on-site but despite extensive negotiation with show organisers, it was not possible to resolve the issue. After investigating possible campsite venues, and given the time of year of the event, the Club felt that the facility would not meet the standards acceptable for it's members and show visitors.

For members still keen to attend the show, using their van as a base, the club has suggested the following as suitable alternatives.

Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site

Is the Caravan Club having major issues with temporary sites? The original Olympics temporary site fell through, now this one.

No idea RogerL - from what we've heard, the location on offer was not good enough, given the time of year. I presume it was a predominantly grass site.

It's very inconvenient for those planning to stay locally, but if it was going to cause problems, it is probably the right move.
