Good evening everyone, I haven't posted on here for a while. I need some help or advice, me and my wife are away at the mo, it minus 1 out side and we are lovely and cosy in our caravan, the problem is I have tried to put the caravan on electrics and the trip keeps tripping, everything in the caravan is off, we are currently using sticky on LED lights as our leisure batter is nearly flat and we are unable to charge it!
does anyone know what could be tripping the switch? The bloke who owns the site states it could just be the cold as there might be moisture in the system but I just don't know if this is true. The outside electrics are fine as there is a van next to us with full power.
we could really do with the electrics on to keep the van warm, I have also checked the fuses and all ok, the other problem we have is our gas is running low so we are going to get some more tomorrow but hopefully will last the night!
I have a bailey ranger 460/2 and its a 2000 model just in case anyone can help, I am wondering if the trip has now packed in, hopefully not!
Thanks

Can you plug into another bollard & check if it still trips ?
Or could you ask the van next door if they could plug there ehu into your van so that you can eliminate the ehu as being faulty ?

Is it the caravan onboard trip or the site bollard that is tripping out?
I would try a different cable as the first check
We had a problem last year and it was a wire in the hook up lead that had pulled out
You could also try switching everything in the caravan on mains off
Usually there are 2 small trips and a bigger one
Try with the 2 small ones off and switch one at a time on

Most likely causes are fridge, water heater or battery charger, having said that I have known vans to trip when a dodgy kettle is plugged in and not even switched on.

Certainly hope you managed to sort your problem out Mr Bell. If not, try and borrow a car battery charger and get your battery sorted first. I understand the on-board one in the 'van won't charge a flat battery. Changing the EHU is the first thing regarding getting your electric back on.Try mateys lead next door on your 'van, hope that will identify the problem for you.

Mr Bell.....
Did you find out what the problem was ?????

hi everyone, we did get the problem sorted, it was the trip switch, it had packed up. We got a mobile caravan fitter to come and replace the switch, everything is now work! Phew. We are now back and won't be going back to the caravan until feb.
