This a matter of life or death, namely Himselfs! We have purchased a new leiure battery because our old one was not holding its charge for 24hrs with nothing being used whilst at home on the drive. Now Himself has put our old battery on our sons caravan and guess what? You got it! Its holding its charge. Before I commit murder can someone throw him a lifeline? We have a 2003 Fleetwood Heritage 640es and we have only had it for 2years!!!!!! He is now looking for a switch that he may or may not have turned off!!! The problem only came to light(pardon the pun) when he decided to leave the mains off to conserve some energy. Please help as I will have to plead GUILTY by insanity if I have to hear another word from him!!!

I have a "master"switch on my Baily panel which switches on the 12v circuit, but if I switch it on it automaticly switches on the radio, which stayes on until I either switch the radio off or remove the radio face plate. I have heard that if you do not actuay isolate the radio the pre set proggrame memory will discharge the battery over a short period
coulde you not put a meter set to amps in line with the battery + to see what it draws & then isolate the 12v circuit by pulling the 12v fuses/circuit breakers then see what happens

Or you could pull the fuse and plug one of these in place of the fuse.
It will help you to find the problem & what is drawing the power.

If i wanted them both i would have them posted

Hi Fridays Child
We had the same issue with our battery mysteriosly. Now we also have a master switch for the motor mover, as that also takes power although minute as it sits in a standby mode. The only thing left for us was the alarm system again sitting in standby mode. I now make a point of diconnecting the battery terminal for this reason once back in storage.
Hope this helps

Check the fridge is turned off with its own knob ie it's not on mains, 12 v or gas. I discovered a few years ago the interior light remained on with the door in the storage ajar position. One flat battery.

Hi,
My shed sits in storage yard and if I do not leave everything correctly turned off I can get a flat battery next time out. Like dustydog leaving fridge turned on with door open has caused me a flat battery twice. Prefer to leave my fridge door wide open but on a sunny day you can't see that the internal light is on....

Sorry to be late with my reply to all your very useful advice. I have been busy digging a hole in the garden and I am so glad I didnt marry a bigger chap OOPS!! After buying that new battery Himself,as was, discovered the switch we didnt have in a place that didnt exist and guess what? It is the master switch you have been talking about. So we spent money we dont have on an item we dont need to fix a problem that doesnt exist. So now I need to know"how deep has this hole got to be"?

But be sure, as I said,in my van my radio comes on with the master switch,BUT does not go off with turning the master off again.I have to either remove the face plate of said radio,or actually switch it off. on some radios the station memory stays alive & will drain the battery over a period
