off road caravanning

I want one!
We have a family wedding in 2007 in Brisbane!
After the celebrations we plan to take a motorhome up the coast to Frazer Isle - Gt Barrier Reef and on up to Cairns where Sandpiper Caravans are based.
I haven't checked but the vehicle we are likely to hire may well be one.

We criticsed the design of another "Off Road Caravan" at a show a few years ago because the cooking and food storage "bits" were separate and not in the caravan body itself. Just the thing for a cold wet weekend in the Forest having to stand outide to cook!
The importer said it was a recognised problom for our climate but in Oz it is not a problem and having it outside of the living area means that escaped bag off sugar does not end up all over the sleeping area!
Not recomended with the insects they have!

Just looked at the photos and I agree the sunshine looks great - they could send some over here today.
The outfit looks good, only with everything being "outdoors" and our weather being so c**p, wouldn't be able to use it much! what an excuse to go to Oz and use it though!!

Yes I cannot wait for our trip in 2007.
The design "flaw" for the UK is a shame - they all seem to do it. The OZ 'vans require you to put up an awning before you have a cuppa! Imagine that on arrival when all you want is a mug of tea.
Shame because on strength and ability these bits of kit are well made and could teach our manufacturers a thing or two about quality.
And due to the exchange rate the price is not two bad.

When over here training on some new equipment some Aussie Fireman were reported in a newspaper to be staggered at the abuse and stone throwing by yobs at our emergency services.
They were asked if they had the same problems in Oz. They replied -
"No - and that is probably because if it ever started we would beat the living s**t out of them"
Like I said I admire their forthright attitudes!

I agree with that Clive, their mentality where life is concerned is spot on generally, it's no wonder they call us whinging pommes.
