We're just going to fetch our caravan from the barn where it is stored and put it on our driveway so that we can get it ready for a trip to a five day rally which starts on Wednesday.

We have to get all of the upholstery, linen, odds and ends out of the back bedroom, the awning and groundsheet out of the garage and load up ready for our little trip.

I'm going to make sure that everything works ok before we go, especially the heater and hot water boiler.

If I'm not around for a few days you will know that Herself has roped me in to help with the dreaded packing.

Just think of all the exercise you'll get up and down the stairs fetching and carrying all that lot, Steve, not to mention the entire contents of Carole's wardrobe.....well, you have to take everything, 'just in case' (isn't that right, Carole? lol). Oh, and make sure the cat isn't secreting herself somewhere inside the van.....but then again, perhaps she'd like a holiday too? Just a thought, hehehe.

Have a nice time Parksy. Hope the weather is nice for you. We've got a problem with the socket that you push the water pump into.

We're hoping to get away next weekend.

All the best.

We've just been up and 'unwrapped' ours to check it out after the winter under cover - and it's lovely and clean, dry, smells of holidays, and is calling us for a weekend away any day now!

It's the first year we've had a cover on the van over the winter, and what a success - no black streaks, no bird doodies, no dust all over the roof, just as clean, and unblemished as when we wrapped it up in October time. We've put the cover back on - and we're getting better at it not, it took no time at all. What a great buy it was, worth every penny.

Have a great time Parksy - I wish we were joining you!

Hi Parksy, don't want to put a dampner on your break but I see the weathermen are forecasting snow again for the middle of next week! Remember and pack your wellies and a shovel :)

Thanks for the good wishes everybody, the caravan is now on our drive and plugged in to our 240v with the space heater on low gently warming the inside.

It has fared well in the barn since November, it hasn't got the usual black streaks and inside it is nice and dry.

Nice to hear from you Plotter, we're only going to Yew Tree Farm, Far Forest for our local d.a. AGM 5 day meet.

I don't mind if it snows as long as we are nice and toasty in the caravan.

I'll take my camera along,I must remember to charge it up.

Woo hoo you lucky things. We had thought about going to the peak district this weekend for our anniversary (on tues) but both chatsworth and looshill were full.......... till yesterday. but since we had resigned ourselves to not going we hadn't cleaned our Ellie and as she has sat on the drive since our last trip at the begining of december, shes filthy. :( so we will console ourselves with a run down to Ladybower reservoir and lunch out instead.

Ray said 'Can we mis behave while your away?'

Be my guest Ray, it never stops anybody while I'm here :0)

I'll tell Mick the owner about the fisherman's heart bypass Sue and pass on your good wishes. Tell Bill from Stoke not to worry about his heart bypass, I had mine in March 1999 and it's a reasonably painless and routine procedure that produces very good results. I was back home after 5 days.

We went to the Peak District for the first time last year Mags & Alan.

Herself had set her heart on the Cotswolds but I'd left it too late to get the dates that we wanted so we went to a certified site in Parwich near Ashbourne.

My beloved had a fixed idea that we were going to a grim industrial area for some reason and she was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

We want to stay near to Bakewell when we go later this year, we liked the town and those puddings are something else!
