old status aerial

Hi Everyone ,with the old status aerials
are you aware since the changeover to digital,the old status aerials will work with a DION low energy digital set top box,it has up to 48 freeview channels on it.i keep it as a back up in case we have a problem with our digital aerial thats fixed to the van.my brother in law had problems with his satelite dish in brean sands,so i gave him my dion box to try it worked a treat so he has bought one himself.hope this helps people that put a pole up outside and aerial.you only need the box in the van.by the way i bought the box in tesco £17 .99 for single scart lead or £18.99 for twin scart which i bought in case i wanted to put dvd player on it aswell.

There are often problems with tv signals at Brean Sands, sometimes the Welsh signal swamps the local one and we've sometimes noticed a difference in channels at night on our Status 530 and Freeview.

Brean sands caravan club site is one site we dont have a problem with the tv signal,we have a digi aerial on the roof.my brother in law couldnt get his satelite dish to work in briarfields cheltenham either so he used old faithfull the Dion Digi box.i will be honest we havent used it in our caravan yet i bought it as a back up.my mate uses one now he has the old aerial.i think we have an abbey 620 like you.tell a lie broadway caravan club we had to use the plug in system we didnt have the dion box then.well we are off to briarfields thursday to have our caravan serviced for third time i hope it doesnt snow by then.

Absolutely correct - but aerial manufacturers have sold millions on the back of their spurious claim.
I confess I don't understand Parksy's problem at Brean - the Status 315 mushroom would get swamped as it's an omni-directional aerial but the Status 530 quoted is a log-periodic directional design which should reject signals from unwanted transmitters unless they're on very similar magnetic bearings.
