On board battery charger

I have just lost an arguement with the OH.
I have always said that the onboard charger will not fully charge the 12v battery but she has produced the handbook that states "the system is capable of charging a totally flat battery, however, depending on its state this may take up to 48 hours. We also recommended that you only use the power supply in the PDU to charge your leisure battery"
You learn something new everyday

There is nothing in that quoted bit that states it will fully charge the battery; it only states it is capable of charging a fully flat battery, not that the charge it achieves will be right to the maximum. 😉

I suspect it will however.
There are some good in-built chargers, but some that are not so good With the latter an occasional charge, with the battery disconnected, with a quality charger could be a bit of a tonic.

You probably haven't lost the argument - not quite - because the charger in your caravan cuts out when the battery has reached 13.8volts whereas your bench charger would carry on charging up to 14.4 or so. Your caravan charger is so designed so as to stop the battery gassing.

No comment about battery chargers but your post assumes you can win arguments with OH. IMHO this is not so, you can only loose to a greater or lesser degree.
