onboard water tank problem

hi there.. i got a 2010 sterling. when my water hog out side is empty i should be able to use the onboard tank it fills ok but no water comeing out of taps help wat are my doing wrong..... its all auto on thesterlings so no taps or valves to turn.....

on my electric board u put on auto fill so it goes straight to onboard tank.so when i put pump on its trying to suck water out of the water hog out side and not pumping it out of the on board tank...have i got to leave the auto switch on ? or unplug the outside pump off....help please...

From what i understand from my friends van is you set switch to autofill and you will pull from the inboard tank and when this reaches 50% it will then fill from the outside tank.

The switch is left in the autofill position
