Slow to heat up and took too long to cool down. No idea why they fitted them in the first place especially if you go off grid a lot.
Do you have to have heavy bottomed saucepans etc to use on the e hob?

Don't loose sight of the fact that regulations often change over time, and what might have been acceptable one year might have become unacceptable in later years, so even comparing the same model of caravan, but from different years, the position of the glass or work top lid may need to be differnt because changes to various regulations that change.

There is little point stating how your lid works as an example to answer a specific question unless you have exactly the same make model and year of caravan as the questioner. It's about as pointless as quoting local weather conditions.

......if you have one of these Thetford cookers you might want to secure the glass lid when towing.
I've secured mine with a strap.
Most I've seen are secured by two grub screws that can work loose resulting in the lids falling off and smashing during towing.
They retail at over £100.
