could anyone tell me if i need a long vehicle plate on the rear of my caravan when the overall length of car & van is over 12mtre when travelling in europe i was told by spanish police this is law in europe
 
never heard of this from any official source and as far as i was aware long vehicle signs where for goods vehicle's only. we toured france recently with an overall length of 14 1/2 meters and had no trouble at all.

I do know someone who once wanted to put these on the back of his hobby and was laughed out of the pub, but he had allso put little lights right down the side of it and customised his car with spots and spoilers, need i say more ?.

never heard of that before but best bet if to go onto your local police force website and email someone in traffic or just go into your local police station (if it is manned)
