A couple of years ago we arrived by ferry in Roscoff (from Plymouth) late evening so we stopped overnite in the huge carpark amongst the noisy refrigarated lorries. When we set off the next morning just round the corner there seemed to be a proper caravan waiting/overnite area. This year our sailing back to Plymouth leaves early evening thursday. We would prefer to do the long drive up to arrive at Roscoff on the wednesday night and park in this area ready for the next day.We could have an easy morning around Roscoff before sailing later on. Does anyone know the set up. is it free, do we book, are there toilets water etc.

Any thoughts folks?

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi Paul

I know people stay overnight at Roscoff ready for the early ferry but I'm not sure about staying all night and most of the day. There are toilets and possibly showers?

We stayed at a little site in St Pol de Leon for a couple of nights last year so that we could visit Roscoff, St Pol was pretty too. We chose the small area at the front of the site across the road from the pebbly beach, we had a hookup and fetched water from the toilet block. You could see the ferries across the bay at Roscoff a 10 - 15 minute drive away. Would go again as it's ideal for a stopover, friendly staff and easy to book by email....it's worth a visit to listen to the sea washing over over the pebbles while you have your early morning cuppa on the sea wall :)

We caught the afternoon ferry, last August, which arrived at 10pm so we decided to stay overnight at the terminal. The last time we did it was about 18 years ago.

There is a carpark a couple of hundred yards up the road from the terminal. It's free. It was like a campsite. All caravans and campers and all peacefully bedded down with no noise or trouble. Some had arrived on the same ferry as us and others were waiting to catch it back the following morning. Quite pleasant for a carpark.

The only problem was getting out in the morning as one French camper had parked too near to the entrance. The guy in the 'van in front of us knocked them up. They apologised and moved their camper. All very amicable.

I'd have no hesitation stopping there again.

As far as I recall there are toilets, etc in the terminal but I think it's only open at check in times.
