Hi,

has anyone got a decent overnight caravan stop around Dijon for transit in January 2008. Does the hotel campaline or others offer sites or even parking for caravan and cars does anyone know

Regards

Wayne

Try this link - gives sites within 15 km of main routes through France - and their opening dates http://users.pandora.be/leo.huybrechts/00frame.htm. Your main problem is finding a site open at that time of year which is not as easy as you might think in France.

We've stayed in Formule 1 and other really budget hotels (not near Dijon but further south), with the caravan, but parking provision varies - at some there is room, at others room for cars but not caravans.

Try Camping de la forge, (www.campinglaforge.com) on the N71 north of Dijon. Very pleasant site, English owners. You would have to come off the auto route but the roads are superb around there and you would save mileage, tolls and possibly time.

It's in the CC Europe book under Chatillon Sur Seine.

One word of warning though, apparently the temperature can drop to -20 in winter in that region so take your thermals !
