overnight near le harve

Looking for a reasonably level site within 30-40 minutes from le harve. Not to far of the motorway, sorry auto route. Heading for the vendee via caen. Coming off the late ferry so I dont want to go to far. All I need is a toilet, shower and preferably electric. Only staying one night.

Any ideas very welcome.

Hi John

On two occassions we have stayed at Foret de Montgeon municipal site in Le Havre itself. Not a brilliant site, but OK for overnight. It's 15 mins from ferry in the middle of the Forest. We have booked in advance before and they tend to stay open until you arrive. Having said that, I have heard that if they are closed, you can pitch up and sort out payment in the morning - not 100% sure about this but may be worth checking.

There is a site just over the pont de normandie - we have booked to use it as overnight stop this coming summer from the afternoon ferry. Drove past it the other day (in France over Easter) - was closed but looks ok.
