Overnight Service Stopover

I would like anyones information on a decent service stopover between Le Mans, Tours and Poitiers on the A28. Before a huge discussion ensues I am aware of all the previous posts regarding the safety of such stopovers but in terms of my journey this year it just suits to have a quick 6 hour overnight break on this motorway.

We stayed just north of Le Mans on the service area Sarthe Sarge Le Mans - which I noted at that time was very nice. We had good showers in the morning, and a reasonably quiet parking area - which are my requirements for a 'service' stop-over! I know it's a little far north for you, but it is a good one.

I'd second Val's recommendation, we'll be stopping there tonight on our way to the Lot

Must agree with the responses above -we stopped there for a lunch break last year and will be doint the same this year on the way down to Tours - very nice, airy and clean. You can then get through Le Mans and Tours before traffic starts building up around lunch time.
