I am travelling down from Northern Ireland via Stranraer in Scotland to Cormwall in early June. As I have to arrive in Truro the following evening I am looking for campsite near to M6 close to Birmingham or near start of M5. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The CC site at wythall just south of Birminham is very close to the motorway although slightly off the direct route.

CC sites at Malvern, Cheltenham and Tewksbury are also reasonably accessible. Would suggest booking particularly if you are going to arrive late.

Hi

The M6 from the M54 junction down to the M5 is known to be very busy during rush hour, sometimes stop start other times just slow moving. There is also road works in this area which can slow traffic down - there are 3 lanes. Not sue if this will affect your choice - we have Tewsbury and Malvern cc sites on our list for future weekends.

Clent Hills C&CC site is a few minutes from Jn 3 of the M5, it has easy access from and to the motorway and it's in Romsley near Halesowen, West Mids.

You can read about it on Caravan Sitefinder

The site is open to non members

I live not far from Edithmead and that's a bit far from M5/M6 area!!. As already mentioned the Chapel Lane CC site at Wythall is excellent (a nice rural area, not what you may think for a site just south of brum) and is only a few mins down the M42 off the M5 and the site is only a few mins off the M42. No problem getting back onto M5 south.

When we have travelled from central Scotland to Cornwall or the south of England we have stopped off at Tewkesbury CC site. It is very close to the motorway and easy to find. I would advise booking in advance.
