Overnight stop in spain

Am travelling santander to Calpe/Benidorm April 2007

need 1 overnight stop below Madrid. Any advice.

Have ceased use of motorway stops after being gassed & robbed.
 
Some fine person here no doubt has a site for you Stanley.

Somewhere on this forum there is data shedding a lot of doubt re Gassing stories and robberies.

I and no doubt many others have stopped very many time with no problems and will continue to do so.

May be somebody knows where the detailed post is before we have new caravanners heading for Europe in a needless state of panic and concern.
 
Stanley....Try this website. I use it regularly and you can email the sites individually. Very few want deposits and in April (unless it is around Easter) you should get on without to much trouble.

Not sure which road south you will use but I know good overnight stop just north of Madrid just off the A1/E05 motorway at La Cabrera. The site is called Camping Pico de la Miel. They let you pitch without even uncoupling if you are just on an overnight, provided they have room. This site is on the above website. Mal
