Just taken delivery of New Pageant Series 5 after waiting 3 months for delivery and then read that Series 6 is to be introduced in Autumn. To say I'm gutted is about right. Bailey say that there will be significant improvements and if the ranger relese is anything to go by will probably be cheaper than the old model. This new caravan lark is becoming like new Footballshirts. I've decided the best course of action is to fight the enticement to presentations of new vans and stop reading the reviews otherwise I'll end up bankrupt. Does this also mean that spares for my series 5 will soon be in decline?

Hi Carl

While I sympathise that you feel disappointed at the news that your new caravan will soon be replaced by new model,I assume that at the time you ordered your new Bailey you were happy to order it on the basis that it was what you wanted at the time, and that the price you paid was acceptable. It is well kown that there is normally a waiting list for new Baileys so the chances are that any new model wil have a longer waiting list as well , it could well be that you would have had to wait until early next year for a series6 Pageant. In my experience most new models take the first 12 months to settle down, most manufacturers introduce modifications to correct small faults, so I always prefer to buy an established model that has been sorted. If you are happy with your new Pageant then stop looking at the new ones, and don't fall for all the hype in the magazines, that's what we do now and we are concentrating on enjoying the caravan we now have,we can't afford to change it for a few years anyway so why worry.

Hi Carl im pleased you raised this point, WE bought our pageant in Feb after a lot of consideration. We love the van and are pleased with our choice ( good value for money)

When I saw in september PC the sereis 6 is due out I was gutted, after all like you it is a new van to me and soon to be an 'old' van.

Were you made aware of the impending series 6 when you bought yours??

I am guessing at the moment there are a lot of series 5 pageants sitting on forecourts with 'reduced' signs in the windows.

I have noticed several pageants 04 ,05 and even 06 for sale in the autotrader, especialy the provence which is like rockyhorse dollop to find !!!!

There is a lot of truth in Keith's reply you just have to enjoy the van you have. Remember if it was a van from any other manufacturer a new model would be hitting the forecourts every September.
