Well, got our first caravan this week, and have a little tweaking to do! She's a 1987 Swift Corvette, clean and dent free outside ... however needs a couple of panels inside redoing due to some old damp. Was thinking about painting inside after the works are done or should we stick to prepared panels?? Would appreciate any views/suggestions/ideas. She looks great for an 'old girl' from the outside ... just gotta do something to her 'innerds' .... glad to have joined!!!

Hi Liz

I guess it all depends on the colour scheme you choose. It might be an idea to see if Lawrence Lleweyln-Bowen is free to give you some tips.

Failing that, creams and light colours are very much in vogue at the moment. I'd go for a nice light neutral colour with matching throws, rugs and cushions.

All the best,

Lisa

Hi Liz,

personally I`d go for prepared panels, go to your local dealers workshops and see how close a match you can get. Sometimes they have obsolete or part panels that you can pick up cheaply, I did this many, many moons ago on a Lunar and when it was eventually traded in the dealer assumed it had been repaired by a workshop so didn`t affect the value of the van.

If you resort to painting, it could make it look like you are trying to cover up rampant, serious defects and render it worthless. Better to be honest about what you have had to do, it will pay in the long run and look better anyway.
