Parasol Bases

My post in the General forum has drawn a blank so here's hoping this will b more successful.

The 'Miraclebase' product was advertised in the magazine recently. It is a new idea for parasol bases that 'flat packs' for carrying in the van etc: It has a spike that you drive into the ground and this in turn screws to a square base and tube to hold the parasol.

It seemed the perfect answer to those age old problems of the base allowing the parasol to blow over in a light wind. I was really impressed by the idea and tried to order one. First I sent a letter and Cheque to cover cost and having not got a response that way ordered via the internet. I have even spoken directly to Mike the MD the person who makes and markets these and despite him saying he would ensure he would send me one in time for my annual holiday on 17th July I have received nothing. I must stress that my cheque has NOT been cashed and neither has my credit card been debited so I am not out of pocket, BUT why is it not possible to get this sent to me? Has anyone managed to order and receive a Miracle base (www.miraclebase.co.uk)? I would be interested to hear. Amazingly the product looks so good I still want one!!

Hi Tottenham Boy,

Think you've had a result actually. We bought something that sounds very similar with a screw in spike and tube affair with plastic holders - as much good as a pork chop at a Jewish wedding. Parasol flipped and flopped everywhere when the spike wore itself loose due to the wind and we got so hacked off with it we threw it away on its maiden voyage. Not sure if it was "Miraclebase" but sound very similar.

We went to the camping shop and got a parasol plastic base as you would have in a normal garden filled with sand or water, but it is a camping version and is a lot smaller. Job done.

Thanks Valerie you are the only reply on this and sounds like you've saved me some cash.

How long ago did you have this?
