Hello Gill,

I stayed on that site a few years ago in a eurosites tent it has a great pool area, a bar and restaurant and a shop on site.

There is a lake you can fish on and hire boats. The touring area wasn't massive because the site mainly had the tents on for all the big holiday companys. If you have got young kids they'll have a great time. It's probably the best holiday we have ever had.

Haven't been to that particular site but stayed last May at Chenonceaux, Camping Le Moulin Fort (www.lemoulinfort.com) which is v close to Tours, right by the river and a stone's throw from Chenonceaux Chateau which must rank as one of the best on the Loire. Highly recommended.

Slightly further afield is the cracking municipal site at Amboise - Camping Municipal L'ille d'Or on an island just a few minutes stroll into the town which again sports an absolutely stunning chateau Tel o2 47 57 23 37.

Worth checking opening times for both unless you're going in high season. Hope this helps.

We stayed at Parc de Fierbois last year but only for a one night stopver both ways en route to Spain and we were also with Keycamp. We didn't own our own van at that time. My advice therefore is only limited so don't take it as gospel but what I saw I didn't like ! The lake was absolutely filthy with rubbish etc in it. The pool area wasn't much better. It was packed out and wasn't in tip top condition. I have been to much better pools than this. It wasn't all that clean (dirty plasters etcaround it) The shop was very expensive and only had a limited range of goods. I can't comment on the showers and toilets as we were in a static at the time so didn't use them. The bar area however was lovely. It may be that we visited on an 'off day' for this site but since then we have been to Spain twice more and to Royan also and have stayed at much nicer sites. This year we took our own van. I can recommend Chateau de Grenouillere in Blois. I would class this as immaculate although its a quieter smaller site. Chateau des Marais was also very nice in Chambord.Hope this helps you and apologies to anyone who likes this site.

We have been there many times and watched it grow.

If you want a good pitch you need to reserve in advance, it has become very expensive now, but is ideal if your doing wine very central.

The young ones always like this site and teenagers too! It has become a very English site by majority in high season, it depends what you want from a camptsite.
