Hello all... were off to Park Coppice in the lake district this week. Has anyone got any comments or advice about this site. Its our first trip to the area so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

Just back from Park Coppice and my advice to you is to spend some time chosing your pitch as there are some very nice pitches to be had on this site. I even saw some people driving around without their caravan and when they found a suitable pitch the wife stayed while he went off for the caravan.

Under a tree is very nice in the heat but when it rains it is not so pleasant and very noisy as we found out but only for one night out of ten.

The site information room has all the details you will need on this area which has lots to see and do. Lastly if you want to visit other villages and towns, go early as the car parks fill up very quickly.

Hope you enjoy.

Hi Robbo

I am normally just a browser on this forum, but felt I should make the following comments. We have been to this site a few times, and really like it. Please be aware of the Fish & Chip van which is located near the reception. I hasten to add this is nothing to do with the Caravan Club. One evening desperate for some food we thought we would buy some F&Cs from this dodgy outfit. I ordered scampi. When I got it back to the caravan it was not cooked. Stone cold actually. I took it back for refrying and was given some extra chips and a wink for my trouble. On eventually eating the product the inside had never been a sea creature in its life. It was preformed mush. I decided not to eat it and tried my families fish. That was not exactly apertising.

If you are desperate for food go to one of the pubs in the village or get some provisions from the Spar.

Guess you can tell I was somewhat p****d off with the Chip van.

Anyway thats my rant!

Enjoy your holiday. Its a lovely area and the beers good!

Cheers

Dave
