We are going to spend a week at Sandford at the end of August. Does anyone have any thoughts on it? We have been to Parkdean sites before,in a static, and really enjoyed it, but the reviews for touring at Parkdean have been patchy.

We have two kids, 2 & 5.

When the site was privately run it was a very well presented site. We went there a few years ago and on booking in we were told to find a pitch and then let them know where we were. The site was squashed in like sardines. If a fire broke out God only knows what would have happened. It is now a typical "kiss me quick" type of site with noise/entertainment into the late of night. Toilet amenities were acceptable but not over clean. It is not our type of site and we have not been back since as we prefer the quieter sites.

We ahve stayed many times at Pear Tree Farm just up the road from there and enjoyed the peaceful relaxing atmosphere of this site in comparison. The village pub (The Clay Pipe) is a few hundred yards walk from this site for a good pub meal.

Hi Jo,

I have been twice this year and have had a really nice time, however it may be worth checking where your pitch is. We have always had a hedged pitch, near the toilet block and reception (no's

30 and 31) it is a large site and there are pitches further away from this area which are just field areas and therefore not so defined. The staff have always been very helpful and the gate to the touring area is closed at night and has a security guard on duty, the pool is lovely, busy around the pool area .but the pool itself always had plenty of room for the children to enjoy themselves. the entertainment is great fun in the evening only because it's so bad!
