we are booked into warren farm from next saturday for 6 nights however the weekend of the 8th when we go we have to stay on the quiter part of the place a 1/4 mile up the road as there is a rally on the main part at the weekend so we have to stay on the quiter part saturday and sunday and move to the main bit monday.

anyone have experience of the quiet side etc?

Hi Danny

I haven't stayed on the quieter part of the site and it's a shame that you will need to change pitches after a couple of days but I shouldn't imagine that being on the quiet end will be much of a problem for you.

For a person with mobility issues there may be problems with travelling to the reception or using the laundry if you need to (we never do) but the bonus will be that you won't be woken by late night revellers coming back from the Beachcomber pub which stays open until late on Saturday nights sometimes.

On the bright side moving pitches will be good practice for you in setting up your caravan :0)

yes we just were`nt sure what was there. if we were experienced i would be a little peeved but as you say it will give us some practice setting up etc, especially with the full awning :) haha

apparently it has its own reception but when i looked at the place via google satelite it is only a small part, pitches seem a good size though

thanks again for answering me

Danny

Warren Farm is a very popular site with both caravanners and tenters Danny, there are also seasonal tourers on there so the park will be pretty full over the weekend.

In one way you will be better off on the quieter site because with setting up for the first time, the dog to look after and the novelty of it all you will have enough to think about without kids running or riding bikes across your pitch, other peoples dogs and a vast audience witnessing your first attempts.

I'm sure that you will enjoy your stay and you are young and fit enough to walk to any part of the area that you wish to go to.

Another car was written off in the sea last week b.t.w. just to cheer you up :0)

Apparently the owners left their Mondeo on the beach while they went jet ski ing! They obviously forgot that the tide comes in and the Severn Estuary has a very high tide apparently.

The sea often seems to be a long way out around Brean and Burnham but you will really hear the waves crashing in at night when you are lying in bed. I like the sound but Herself once watched a documentary about a tsunami which happened in the area two hundred odd years ago and the noise scares her.

i never thought about that, very good point about less people to laugh at us with our first attempts, i will most definitely be taking my laptop with me incase i need to write a post which more than likely i will.lol

never knew about the tsunami, will definitely tease my partner with that one.lol.

we wont be taking the car near the beach though as its not far away so dont have to worry about pushing the van back.haha

The Tsunami happened in 1607 according to This PDF and there were around 2000 fatalities including 26 in Brean.

I'm sure that you will be ok though!

ROFL!

If Herself sees this she'll want one of those rubber life saving bands and then as far as my love life is concerned whenever we visit Brean it will be Game Over!

hi

last year we went to this part of brean and purposly selected the quieter area which I beleive you are talking about. Sunnyside as I recall. It is not far from the main location - in that area nothing is far from anything to be honest- but there seemed to be a lot more "room" in that field. we had a drive arround warren farm and the caravans seemed to be packed in well. In warren it appeared that you looked out of your van directly into somebody elses. Not so on the quieter field far more open and fewer pitches. just behind a chinese chipper and large pub. short walk to a cut thro to the beach. Might be a consideration to stay where put. depends what you want from a holiday I suppose

should mention Sunnyside has its own reception area may be worth finding out which reception you need to announce your arrival at. Might save a turn round in their forecourt.

hi robert, now you mention it it is sunnyview. when i looked on google earth street view i did see the chippy so thanks for confirming where it is. with regards to the reception we will be checking into sunnyview straight away.

as its our first outing we want to get the full awning up etc and give everything a good try so thanks also for the heads up on pitch sizes,we may just stay on sunnyview in that case as the main park is only a few minutes up the road so doesnt really matter plus i suppose you wont get people walking past from the pub etc

we just want a nice quiet break, maybe a bbq,few beach strolls and start the memories with the van :)

are there descent showers etc on the quiet part?

Danny,

I stayed there in August 2008 for a week with my family on Sunnyside and had a great time. Best thing was the fact it is a five minute walk to the beach. Worst bit is that it was a five minute walk to the toilet block too!
