Clare Kelly was about source new furnishings.
A delivery van bashed into the Elddis rendering it a total loss.
IMO:-
1. Get a couple of pre accident valuations from reputable dealers and of course a couple of repair estimates (written).
2. If insured contact own insurers.
3. If not insured write to van owner / Insurer holding them fully liable for full pre accident value / repairs, loss of use.
Oh dear Clare's holiday is ruined.
No doubt they will declare it a total loss and offer a cash in lieu of repairs with PCv retaining the salvage.
Be careful here because disposal of a damaged caravan can be expensive. This should be factored into the overall quantum of your claim. They may offer you the salvage for a nominal sum say £50.00 but then you are still stuck with disposal costs.
Do you want the salvage so you can strip out all the bits Doug has fitted and use on another project?
Sometimes we do have to draw the line and say goodbye. Just ensure you extract as much as possible from the TP Insurers.
I am sure a few more of our experts will offer some sensible advice as well.
