Oh come on guys!! Its light hearted banter in the main. Apart from the odd troll that pops up.

Anyway what are you doing if not adding to it?

If you do not like it ignore it. As for p*ssing you off what is it with you guys with more opinions than manners that you have to use such appalling language.

Please leave those of us who like to converse to do as we like. It is primarily about caravanning after all.

Not all of want to discuss sink drainers you know.

Well said Clive - what has this forum come to if you cannot have light hearted banter without being hung drawn and quartered. - Everybody needs to lighten up and stop being so serious - could we also cut down on the swearing is it really necessary?

Too many po faced people on campsites, they walk around with such long faces you think their world is going to end - now I see they are posting in here. Jeeeezzzz cheer up or ****** off and stop trying to infect people with your miserableness.

Chris, how do you know that something in their lives has not caused their world to end?

Not everybody who has a long face is unhappy and not everybody who appears cheerful is. As Martyn said in previous posting why can't miserable people go caravanning.

Perhaps I am oblivious to what is going on but what is that these 'miserable' people do that upsets you. I was also interested in what had happened to Monkey that made her think that people with wind breaks were ignorant.

Am I missing something, are carvan sites full of problems between fellow campers?

Last week we were away and there were a couple who were in their motorhome and decided to totally block themselves in so you could not enagae them in a smile let alone a conversation. I tried when they did come out to smile and say hello but I just got a blank look from both of them (perhaps due to the restricted oxygen flow due to the barriers around them).

For the record I did not say they were ignorant I said they were unfriendly.

Night Night

Ray, I am not attacking people being miserable on sites, just stating a fact that they are posting their miserableness in this forum too. When I pass someone on site I look at them ready to say "Good morning" or whatever but if they wish to pass me within feet with their gaze deliberately averting me that is their choice and at least I know how I stand with them. There is no need for them to post into this forum though if everything is a moan and is negative and they dont like light banter.Lifes far to short to be serious and moaning all the time.

When on C & CC sites and we meet these insular people we always say

THANK GOODNESS ITS THE FRIENDLY CLUB

What is worse is the "friendly" neighbour who you have chatted to who suddenly doesn't speak when their friends arrive.

We were on an adults only site recently when this happened as the regular/seasonal clique formed.

Lovely site but adults only

Some needed to grow up !!

Since when has the C & CC been the friendly club or have we been on their only unfriendly sites with the exception of one site south west of London?

Miserable wardens who obviously are ex-army RSMs and seem to take enjoyment out of making your stay unpleasant, charging you if you arrive early although there are plenty of pitches available, making you leave at exactly 12 pm on your last day or making you pay extra if you want to stay an extra hour or two although the pitch is not booked and finally generally unkempt pitches. Oops left out one, telling you which pitch you must take instead of letting you decide and if you don't want and then giving you a "dirty" look because you want another vacant pitch elsewhere.

Definitely not renewing my C & CC membership next year. Maybe the other campers are happy to use C & CC and maybe they are friendly but no more than a CC or commercial site. Thank goodness, it is people that create friendliness not the organisation or the wardens!

Monkey, sorry if I misquoted you but I think the word you used was unsociable ( well petty does appear in the heading of this topic). I think I understand now, you do not dislike wind breaks in general you just dislike unsociable / unfriendly people whether they have wind breaks or not. Ray

Chris, I am not sure whether your moan about people moaning was in response to Monkey complaining (moaning?) of unsociable people or whether it was the unsociable people themselves or people moaning at Monkey for moaning. In any event they were posted in the General section which 'is to express your views and let of steam about caravanning issues' so I guess everybody has the right to do so (language, manners etc kept respectable of course).

No Ray, my moan wasn't about a moaning Monkey but about the Moaning Minnies who made the first two moaning posts, the Victor Meldrew's of this world aka caravannings Grumpy Old Men. My moan was about the long faces, it doesn't cost anything to say "Good morning" but then again they aren't moaning but something tells me that these are the very same miseries who because we cant see their grumpy old faces do the next best thing and moan in their posts. Moaners of the world unite and get your own forum, it could be called the Miserable Old Assholes Need Entertaining Regularly Society. There, thats my moan over. For the Grumpy Old Mens information this post was just a joke and NOT to be taken seriously + I'd also run out sentences to put "moan" in.

Not nice? Don't you know a "hidden" compliment when you see it? Look it up in the dictionary, "Daventura" to be precise and economical with the english language!

I agree with you Sarah - the CCC is far more regimented than the CC.

Hi Chris - I laughed at what you wrote - very true - good insight. Liked the Puppy analogy above.

Isn't it odd that the VAST majority of Campers/caravaners/motorhome/car/4x4/steamroller users all get on fine and converse in an adult fashion.

I think Jeremy Clarckson must somehow only ever come up against the minority. Shame these people always want to be so negative.

Look at this Forum - people are communicating!! One lady is now suggesting a descriptive Topic for CL's - What an excellent idea. Can only happen because of the new modern interactive Forum.

But no - some people think it was better before. What a load of tosh.

We have a saying in this office about experience - some people genuinely have 40 years experience and use it constructively. Those that TELL you they have 40 years of experience usually only have about 1 years of experience - but sadly it is 40 years old.
