Peugeot 508

Hi

Does anyone know if the Peugeot 508 2.0 auto diesel estate will put a Bailey Bordeaux series 5 ok.

Regards Annie

Hello Annie,

I have not been able to find any data regarding the weights of the Bailey, so I cant tell you if its within the capacity of teh Peugeot,

But the Peugeot web site only lists a the 2011 508SW and not an estate, so I,m guessing this is your particular model

It has the following specification

Gross Vehicle Weight 2280Kg
Kerb weight 1780
Gross Train weight 3880
Maximum braked trailer weight 1900
and maximum hitch load 75Kg

These are healthy figures and it will tow any trailer up to 1900Kg as per is manufactures specifications

However, A word of caution, If the driver passed their test afters Jan 1997, and they haven't taken the B+E extension test, then because of their licence only alows a combined Maximum Authorised Mass 3500kg, the largest trailer that can be towed is 3500 - 2880 = 1220Kg MTPLM

"SW" stands for station wagon, or it does where French and Italian made cars are concerned and no doubt others, which means its just another term for an estate car....

Hi Both
Thanks very much for the info it is the SW model so it should be ok. My husband will be towing and he passed his test in the late 60's so hopefully we are ok on that score

Regards Annie

Hi Annie.
Would think you will be okay with your tow car, we had the series 7 Bordeaux and its MPTLM was 1321kg . And towed that with a Mazda 6 petrol which managed fine .
