Is there a minimum distance regulation when placing touring caravans on pitchs.

I thought there was due to fire safety precautions but am not sure.Any advise appreciated.
 
Camping and Caravanning club have a rule of 6 metres, but that's just their own rule.

If on a CC C&CC or comercial site get warden to check if a CL ask nicely yourself and explain why

We were touring Portugal in our camper and one night we stayed on a beach all on our own, my Wife said is it safe ,i thought she meant the tide.Anyway we went to bed about 11 pm and was still on our own (marvelouse sunset).Got up about 8am opened the window and was greeted by a German lady in their camper who was about 24 inches away and next to them others the same i could not believe that they had come in so quite in the night ,.As we were moving off later it was only funny at the time.Of course if there had been an incedent like fire etc i should imagine we are talking about
 
It was on a commercial site.I thought it was too close,but the site were unhappy when we asked for it to be moved.

On the 6 by 7 metre pitch there was already a motorhome and two small tents,hence why this second one came so close to ours.

I know some sites have clear rules about spacing on a pitch-and some also state caravan-awning-car in a set order.

Angie Commercial Sites work on a 1metre rule

We never use commercial because of that

We now only use CL's. Adult only pref

The CC and C&CC own sites would poss suit you better or do you not belong to either

Hi Rita,

Haven't joined either yet but think I will.I think this site was simply packing as many people in as possible as it was school holidays.There was definately less than 1 metre.We couldn't even walk between the two,and had to "shimmy"down sideways!

Think we would prefer sites where the pitches are more spacious.

Both clubs allow non members .. so why not go and try a weekend to see .. You can always join on site if you like it .. If you tell me what area you live in i will post the closest cc & c&cc club site to you

Angie the distance between units is a fire regulation and should not under any circumstances be reduced if this site was happt to have a unit that close then I for one would not go there again,in fact I would take a digital photo and email it to the local council that issues their licence.

I will definately take a look at them.We do have friends who are members and they speak highly of them.

Yes,I so wish I had taken a photo.I did think about it but the group on the next pitch were a mixed,rowdy group and I didn't want to antagonise them.(they were sat by the roadside so would of seen).

Like you say,I would not go back.The site was under new ownership and I think they were packing in as many people as possible.
