We just bought a Sunncamp Ultima 390 Acrylic to go with our shiny new Bailey Pageant Champagne. We have always had conventional awnings in the past without issues. The problem we are having with this new job is that it seems almost impossible to erect when, having levelled the van, the ground the "flexi-poles" stand on is higher than the ground the van is standing on. You just can't get the sides to butt up against the caravan. It looks like a big right angled triangle pivoting from the top. No problem on the main CC sites they are usually flat, but we usually use CLs. - Any thoughts please?

I'm afraid this is a common fault with the ealier versions of this type of awning the newer dearer models such as Kampa have adjustable poles to compensate for uneven ground

I found that cutting off about 2" from the top of the poles on my 290 allowed the sides to come in closer to my Champagne

My current solution, as yet untested, is a Milenco Aluminium Leveller. Using that on the "awning side" of the van and our ramps on the other if necessary, I should be able to set the van level at any hight from ground up to 20cm to match the hight of the ground that the awning poles will stand on. Now it's going to be something of a challenge to do that and get the Alko through the wheel lock in place. My wife says engineers over complicate everything and your simple and inexpensive "fix" seems to substantiate that. Thanks Tony
