Plastic sheeting to lay under ECO mat

I have a Eco Mat Breathable Awning Carpet which is excellant on grass however this summer i'm going to a camp ground in Italy,each pitch is predominantly covered in pine needles I need some plastic sheeting to underlay the carpet as the needles still come through the mesh. I dont want to by a tarpauling. I,ll recyle the plastic sheeting at the end of the trip. I have looked at various DIY places but still no luck as for colour the Deputy chief of staff says a dark colour would be nice.

Just get a cheap plastic groundsheet - if you put plastic under the "eco" carpet you'll kill off what's underneath anyway.

the ground is just dirt and pine needles with quite a few ants thrown in .I typed in polythene sheeting instead of plastic got plenty of hits ive just bought a polythene mulching sheet but thanks for the quick reply.

Buy a dampproof membrane used for going under concrete flooring.

Try Wickes etc.
