Hi guys this has been a bit of an on going fault with my 1st ever van (bought 4 weeks ago), had problems with battery charging, located it to the charger being defective, opened it up today to find fuse out of it in bits due the circuit board being burnt out, anyone know where I could get one from? seems to be producing or should produce 12amps, I assume when it works you just leave it switched on and when battery is full up it will stop charging the battery? would it be better to buy a numax 12v 10a leisure battery charger connect and forget system? Regards Jim.....

Was your caravan bought from a dealer or a trader Jim?
If it was then they should rectify or replace the faulty charger unless they told you that the charger was faulty before you bought the caravan.

Hi Parksy Yeh was a trader but when I asked has the van got a charger he said oh I am not sure, he only has 3 vans for sale at a time, think it would be pointless asking I think to be honest. if I could sorce a board cheap then I could fit it myself job done, wouldnt think it would be too expensive, its finding one thatl be the problem.

The traders evasive answer shows that he knew that there is a problem with the charger when he sold the caravan to you.

I can understand your point about buying a cheap board to save the hassle, it all depends on what you are prepared to spend really.
Because a trader sold the caravan you are protected under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 so if your search proves fruitless or the replacement or repair is expensive you can get recompense under the Act.
