Porch awning - recommendations

Hi there,

I'm after a new porch awning for my little caravan. I've checked out a few and like the idea of one of those modern looking dome tent-type porch awnings.

Can anybody recommend one that's (incredibly) easy to put up, light and reasonably durable?

I've seen a couple - there's the Porchlite Plus by Outdoor Revolutions and also there's a similar one by SunnCamp - but a lot cheaper.

I also like the idea of the Easy Porch also by Outdoor Revolution but am a bit concerned by the material used - it seems less water resisitant than the Porchlite.

Does anyone have experience with these porch awnings? I'd love a few suggestions or recommendations,

Many thanks in advance,

S

Hi

we have a cheep porch awning, dome tent style, think its a suncamp.

Only problem i've had is in windy conditions the pole punch out of the fabric pockets they rest in against the side of the caravan.

Its dead easy to cure, infact i'd do it as a prevntative thing. here's how, buy 2 copper pipe 22mm end stops, the solder on type not compression. and pop them in the pockets to spread the load, easy cheep fix!!

hello beej,

the answer to your question is yes,i was waiting till spring to

advertise the awning.i've e-mailed the moderator to see how we

can communicate direct to each other.i live in east anglia.

by the way have you decided on your towcar yet,skoda/x-trail.

regards,

Hi Frank,

Still not decided on the towcar. It's now X-trail vs Mondeo as the garage I got the Focus from is a bit embarrassed about the number of probs I've had with it. They've offered me over the odds part-ex and a good deal on the Mondeo.

Still not sure I want a Ford again though - and the Mondeo is HUGE - a lot longer than my Focus (which is almost the same length as the XT give or take a cm!).

Don't bother with Harrison porch awnings, we found the twisting poles a blasted nuisance, fortunately the wind took it at Christmas. If you do go for one, take divorce lawyer with you!!
