Porch Awning to Half Awning

Our Bradcot porch awning has beading down both vertical sides. As we use it near the rear, as per picture, I've shortened the rear vertical beading by a couple of inches such that the vertical beading can follow the horizontal beading into the awning rail. Theoretically the porch awning can then be used as a half full awning and eliminate draft from one side. The first trial insertion will be next month, but has anyone else done the same?

Hi WC
We have used a full awning as a porch by breaking the bead at both sides and using 2 corner poles that accept the bead, with a pad attached you get a snug fit at either side, if any one is thinking of doing same, you measure floor to awning rail at each side and then add the length of awning rail you want to cover, the 3 figures added together give you the size of awning needed. Useful if you need to avoid covering a window.
