I have a 1 year old Trio awning. I'm moving up to a twin axle but can't seem to get anything like a sensible price for my £1000 awning. Is it possible to convert it to a porch. I've heard you can cut the awning cord and add a pole and pad to fit the "cut" side to the van wall. Any ideas? Are there any websites out there with instructions?

With some porch awnings they fit to the awning channel at one end and you cut the piping so that the other side can be taken with a slight slope to the ground.I have had porch awnings altered in the past so that the loose sausage was sewn onto the awning but you can get a plastic piece with a groove to take the piping and a cylindrical clip over section for the pole .The pole needs to have a crank at the top and a clamp to grip the roof pole (rafter)
