Hello everyone,

Went out in our caravan for the first time this weekend and really enjoyed it. We are new to caravaning and have come to realise having a toilet in the van is a must (especially with 2 small children who want a wee in the night). Could anyone recomend a good porta potti, we were looking at the Royal 20l porta potti, is this any good? We dont really want to spend any more than £20.

Thanks

Thetford offer a 2 year warranty on their porta potties so that's a starting point.

The waste tank capacity on the Royal is 19.4 litres

' ' ' ' ' ' Thetford 21 litres

Fresh water capacity on the Royal = 18 litres

' Thetford = 15 litres.

The fresh water is the water used to flush the toilet.

The Thetford is slightly higher off the ground but more compact.

Another thing to compare is what postage charges apply?

Is there a Towsure store in your area? If you could collect your porta potti it would save money on postage.

In my opinion the Royal model is more aesthetically pleasing but there again you're not buying it to look at.

The Thetford holds more but the flush water might run out sooner.

Royal are relative newcomers to the caravan accessory market while Thetford is the well known brand who have been around for years and they have a good customer service department if it is needed.

Thetford might have a better resale value if you no longer need the porta potti and sell it - I know, a second hand bog but we sold ours years ago and were inundated with prospective buyers lol.
