Yes, that’s what it’s supposed to do. The Aldi one see photos is 12 years old. It charges ok but once fully charged switches off. As far as I can tell it does not switch back on so doesn’t function as an auto trickle charger. That may be how it is supposed to be or it has failed?I've got several Aldi chargers, and their Achilles heel is the fact they don't automatically turn back on, after a mains power cut, but provided the mains is there, they do monitor the state of the battery and will ramp up the charge rate if the battery is used, Is this what you mean?
