I bought one of those £70 mobile staelit dishes from Liddle the other day. Having now re-tuned it to astra 28 I can get about 20 uk channels and by substituting the original box for my sky box, we have sky at home.

A mate of mine recons that my sky card is localised to my home adddress and will not work 100 miles away on the campsite.

Also how on earth can I get a second sky package as I already have one registered to my address? How do people who live permanently in motorhomes get on?

Your thoughts guys and gals are much appreciated.

Thanks, Steve.

Your mate is wrong.

Although Sky say that you should not take the card out of the UK many people do and with the right size dish you can get Sky in much of Europe

You can get a Sky freeview card for

I think you'll find if you take your reciever and viewing card from home you will be able to receive all the channels you get at home. If you put your home card in a different receiver you will only get the free channels.

Hi,

You can have a sky card activated in any digibox and it will work in any other in any country within the footprint. Sky will not tell you that.

Everything you need to know is here, www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk

Thanks guys for the very useful info. I'll post a copy to my mate just for info, and then *** off down the car booty.

By the way, I'm not a telly addict, but just fed up of watching snow storms in June.

Thaks again, help much appreciated.

Steve.

If you are paying for channels in the first box then in the 2nd box you can get some of the channels (Ch4, 5 and for some reason Eurosport which you don't get with a freeview card !!)

Satellite TV

Using a box only (no card) you get the FTV (free to view) channels

With any card and any box you get the FTA (free to air) channels - this will give you 1-2-3-4-5 all the news programs (?), SSports news and a load of watchable channels, (gold, bravo etc etc) as well as most of the c**p ones

With a subscription card and the box it's matched to, you get all the above + the premium channels you are subscribed to (Movies, Sport etc)
