Positioning of cookers

In a side kitchen layout why do caravan manufacturers insist of putting the oven/hob right next to the entrance. After visiting several caravan distributors I have noticed the safety glass screen attached between the hob and wall has been used as a handle by people climbing in and out of the van. This has caused the screen to come away from the wall, and from my oservation this is a problem, and perhaps could be remedied by changing positions of the sink and cooker. Worth thinking about!!

we had the same problem with the first van we bought,if you go out or come in the door, its the first thing you grab hold of in some situations, hence ours came away too,it also shattered when the wife was cooking, which i put down to rapid cooling when door opens and cold air comes in and its one of the first thing that is cooled.next van we bought the cooker was on the opposite side, much much better.
