It takes a while for your posting to reach the forum page and longer to show up on the front page.
A lot of people think the post has not been successful, and hit the send button again, which results in duplicate posts, or hit the send button twice when submitting, which again results in duplicate posts.

If either of those explanations is not the cause,,,,,I give up

I may have just been guilty of that, I tried 4 times to make a post the gave up. I suppose there will now be 4 posts - sorry. One of the 4 time only, I was asked to type in the letters from a funny script. Only the once though?

Just sucessfully posted to Technical, but this time did not include a link to Tanya batteries. Are links not alowed? Perhaps for security?

Hi Chris
Please accept my apologies for not sorting out this problem earlier today, I've been busy on domestic duties so I missed looking in this afternoon as I normally would.

Links are allowed but the problem is that Haymarket have installed some very effective anti-spam software to stop the 50+ spammers that the forum was attracting every day.
Every now and again a link from a genuine forum member is detected and diverted to a moderator edit away from the forum page. I normally check the edit suite 3 or 4 times every day and take the appropriate action for the post containing the link to appear.
Because of time pressure I've only just checked the edit and your post with the link has now appeared on the forum.
The box with the letters is an affirmation box which lessens the chances of remotely generated spam getting through, if you continue to have to fill in this box when adding forum posts please email me via the 'contact a moderator' link and I'll get the issue rectified for you.

For some reason our anti-spam software allows some links past without any problems but diverts others, long links usually run into trouble but please continue to post links by all means.
If they don't appear please contact me via email so that I can do something about it because it all helps to 'educate' our relatively new software

I've replied twice toInterim report on Polyplastic Window Problems
in General. It even shows that I've replied on the main forum page but there is no post from me under this thread. It's about time these nigglying things were sorted.
And no, I didn't type the post out in Notepad and copy/paste it into the reply. I did as I normally do, typed it into the reply box and clicked save.

Apologies, I think that Lord Hezza has forgotten to tell his manservant to feed the carrier pigeon again.
I'll bring this to Lura's (one of our tekkies) attention in the morning to see if she can shed any light on the problem.

The web technicians have sorted out the issue with the missing post in the Polylastic Windows thread and the words of wisdom submitted by both Lord B and Jonny G have now appeared on the forum page.
Apparently one of the members signatures was conflicting with the forum software.
The forum members who reported having to complete the affirmation box should now have no further problems, thanks to Austin at Haymarket.
