Power to a caravan in store

We store our caravan at home with permanent 230v power.
What is the panels opinion on:
Keeping the fridge running all the time?
Keeping power to the battery charger & therefore keeping the battery charged?

Unfortunatly we don't get away in the caravan often but when we do it's at fairly short notice.

Our caravan is parked at home and continuously connected to the 230v mains - the battery charger is permanently on, it's a CTEK smart charger so it does keep it fully charged and clear of sulphate better than the more usual on-board power supply. We don't keep the fridge on permanently even during the touring season but put it on 4-5 days before we go away.
I've heard somewhere, no idea where, that fridges need a mass in to keep cool rather than run completely empty - a big pack of lager should suffice!

Keeping the fridge on 24/7 is not a good idea at all.
The fridge needs items inside it to maintain its low temperature and all you will do by leaving it on is burn the 230v heating element out as it will be working full time when it should not.
Also, Caravan fridges are recreational vehicle units and not designed to be used 24/7/365

Thanks both, the fridge has been turned off all summer with the door open but I did close the door & turn it on last winter, full of bottles of beer & water to keep any chance of mildew out of it.

Any thoughts about the battery? the caravan (2006 Sterling) has the very basic electrical & therefore charger panel (thankfully)

IMHO you should be able to use your fridge 24/7/365 otherwise it is not fit for purpose, but I do understand what you are trying to say. When we lived in our caravan, the electrical side of the fridge went faulty after about 2 years and was repaired on site with no problem free of charge.

As someone who worked for Electrolux as a production controller, I can assure you that all their products were designed to work 24/7/365 whether they they were Leisure products or domestic grade products.
