Powertouch motor mover

We have the new Powrtouch Evo self engaging which was fitted last month. From day one we have had issues. On testing it at the dealer on collection, no issues. Putting into storage the same day no issue. Collecting it a few days later, I could not get the motor to engage initially, but after several attempts succeeded and got it connected to the car. On arrival at caravan site same problem with it not engaging and had to keep switching it on and off at the key. On leaving site no issue and putting back into storage no issue.
On collecting it 2 weeks later, it would not engage initially, but eventually managed to get it engaged. The caravan moved forward about 5 metres and motor mover stopped. I switched off key and then on and moved forward about a metre and it stopped. We had to keep repeating this until we got it hitched. Took it to the dealer and no issues. No issues when taking it back into storage.
On thsi Friday past, it engaged, but after moving it a couple of metres, it would cut off. I would then switch the key off and on, move it about a metre and then it would cut off again. After doing this several times we were able to hitch up. At the moment very disappointed in the motor mover. The battery is a 100amp and just on 2 years old.
Any ideas?

Its the battery

I suspected as much and will need to take it up with the dealer as the battyer should still be under warranty. We had no issues with the Truma motor mover although it was a series 1 from about 2006. I am guessing that the Phantom tracker may be draining it just below the load level which is why whenw e collect it from storage we have an issue and that a short trip is enough to boost rthe battery allowing us to put the van back into storage? The battery is an "Auto Elite".

A simple test for the batery is to put a multimeter on the battery terminals and note the voltage.
Without engaging th erollers, operate the mover in forward or reverse and watch what the battery voltage does.
It should dip initially but return to 12v very quickly if the battery is OK.

If the battery is no good, thevoltage will drop and stay down.

We have the same mover, bought with our new van last July. I take a fully charged 70 AHh (3 years old) from home to the storage site when I want to move the van to bring it home for cleaning and it always copes, even on our drive which has a slope of 10 degrees.
A tip - before you need to manually uncrank the drive from the wheels in case of problems (eg fully engaged and the battery goes flat) that you first try the exercise at leisure. We found on one side that the T-bar spanner socket would not go into the recess far enough to engage with the hexagon nut in order to withdraw the rollers. If you have problems I will let you know the fix.

We have the same Evolution mover on our van. I had similar problems on our first outing and found reading the manual that there is a safety cut off that operates if you touch either of the green keys after you start to use the mover. If you have touched one of these the operation stops and the only way to restart is to use the isolation key. Make sure you don't do this is your battery box with key is close to a hedge or wall.
I also had a problem when my battery was low on one occasion and the mover cut out but would then start again after resetting if left for a few minutes. After recharging the battery no problems.

Definitely not touching any other keys. I was going to check it yesterday with a multi meter as suggested but with an ice cold wind blowing all we wanted to do was drop it off and get home. Probably pop down on Thursday and do the test Damien suggested.

Had the battery on charge for 2 days and it is only reading just over 10v. Is there any way that one can tell how old a battery is like checking a date code? It is a 105ah Auto Elite.

After 2 days charging and only showing 10v, the battery is dead and will power nothing, certainly not a mover which must have a good minimum of 12v

I think that between Roger and myself we have been able to pinpoint why the battery is going flat, but it wil be on another thread.
