Hi all has anyone changed from the power touch to the New Powertouch Evolution? I have had the powertouch on my van for 8 years and had no problems apart from a roller going, and Powertouch sent a pair out and i had them next day,
Today I was checking everything and notice one roller wasnt turning to well, so I took it off and the bearing was broken, phoned Powertouch and a new bearing is in the post. But I was thinking I need the mover to get the van up the drive long story but you cant reverse it up by the car as the caravan has to have its nose down as low as poss or the back grounds.
So for £995 I can have the New Evolution that they told me was 4 times better than the one I have, but they said if mines going alright why change it. I worry it might pack up and then I cant get the van up or down,
any thoughts on this??

First of all you must commend powrtouch in the way they said why change it if its alright.
Secondly you could spend all that money and that one could pack up at any time although you will have the 5 year warranty with it
Suppose its the same as any thing you buy new whats to say it will never break down.
One question I would ask is why is the new one 4 times better than the one you have and what will it do that the one you have doesnt,
both will get it up your drive. At the end of the day it is up to you and if I'm really honest we all like new toys now and again

I have had a Powertouch since 2001. My first was transferred to a new van after 4 years but in 2010 I decided not to have it moved again when I purchased a new Pegasus and my dealer offered to include a new Powertouch as part of the deal. In March this year I looked at the possibility of having automatic engagement added but found that Powertouch were not offering this option as they had started to sell the Evolution. As I have had an operation on my hand that was making it difficult to use enough force to apply the Powertouch on both wheels at the same time I decided to go for the automatic engagement Powertouch Evolution. So far I have been very pleased with its operation. My only concern is that it is dependant on the battery to engage and dis-engage the mover and I am working on an Elecsol battery that is approaching 9 years old. (Powertouch do provide a key that can be used to wind the rollers off the tyres in the event of a power failure).
