I'm sold on the Powrtouch mover, BUT, do I save myself some money and have the Powrbar, or spend the extra and have the Powractuator fitted? Is the bar hard work? Any advice most welcome!

If it's the same actuation bar or set up as the Truma don't bother. I've had mine taken off because it gets so hard to activate from one side and puts a strain on the mechanism.

I only had one fitted because I thought I would have to park close to a wall but I could get away without it as it turned out.

We've got the Powrbar on our Powrtouch 3 mover but not the Powractuator. It does take a bit of effort to engage the rollers with the wrench provided but Claire can do it on her own with a bit of elbow grease. We didn't actually order the Powrbar but our mover came with one anyway and we're glad it's there as it makes engaging it that little bit easier and quicker as you only have to do one side.

The Powrtouch mover is a great product and we wouldn't be without it now even though we've only used it for one holiday so far.

We have got the new 4 wheel drive Powrtouch on our new Wyoming and it has the cross actuation system being a twin axle, as standard.

The mover is first class, but to be honest, I'm not impressed with the actuation set up - it's actually quite tough putting the rollers on and pulls my shoulder every time......

We had a single axle powertouch on our last couple of 'vans, without the actuation system, and I had no such problems then! To be honest, I would prefer to walk round the 'van and put all four rollers on to the wheels individualy.

Martin,

I have the actuator bar on my T/A but when I engage the rollers, I push into the socket wrench rather than pull.

One thing to remember when you come to dis-engage them, is that they can spring back quickly as the spring recoils and if your not ready for this, you may catch your hands on the wheel arches,

best regards, Martin

Hi

I have a new powertouch mover with manual rolles which i have to activate both sides of the van. No problems activating or

de-activating the mechanism. BUT saying that if you have to store or park close to a house fence you would have a problem you do need to be able to walk round the van.

Hope this helps steve.

I am begining to think that my choice of mover i.e. the Enduro was the wisest. The cross actuation bar comes as standard included in the price with the Enduro and the method of engagement is on a slider/geared mechanism rather than the cam which appears to take a lot of effort.

I can use my power drill to engage the rollers from any side..... no effort. Its only the last couple of turns that need to be done manually.

Is the reason that the Powertouch is being sold off cheap because its old technology and a new more up-to-date version is on the way?

Hi Rob

I saw you thread the other night along with the multitude of very positive comments on the Powrtouch. I was looking at the Truma SE (one on Ebay) but decided to research a little and after all the great advice on here, I've started negotiating with Racheal on a Model 3. I think I'll invest in the Powractuator too.

Maybe you should call them and see about your commission!

Hi Dave,

Go the whole hog and get the powractuator fitted as well, it's so easy just the flick of a switch and both powrdrives are in place, flick the switch again and they are both off. I would not be without mine, fully recommend it.

Think we've actually cost them quite a bit with forum folk getting price matches! Believe they're now asking for a premium to extend the warranty to 5 years but, from what we've read, it's well worth it as their aftersales service is legendary.

Good luck with your negotiations.

Claire & Rob
