I have heard so much of the powrtouch motor mover but can someone tell me if i need a second battery to power the unit or will it power from the existing battery?

The reason i ask is that i only have room in my battery box for one battery.

Also, what sort of price could i expect to pay to have the unit supplied and fitted? my caravan is a Bailey Ranger 470/4 M.T.P.L.M. 1190KG

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I use 1 x 110 amp/hour battery to power my mover, then power my 12volt electrics for the weekend when we dont have hook ups.

Because she who must be obayed watches all the soaps on Friday night & the crap on a Sat. night I have invested in a solar pannel to make sure I can get the van back into the garden.

I would think you will have to pay close to

Hi Andrew,

I use a 85amp battery on the van but I always have another 85amp on charge at home. When I get the van out from storage I change the battery and replace it with the fully charged one.

Regarding what you will pay for a powrtouch motor mover, below is what I posted a few months ago.

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to share my good fortune with you all and tell you what a great deal I have just had. I just phoned Powrwheel Ltd, for a price on the Powrtouch 3 model and also the Powractuator to go with it which normaly retails at

For at least 5 years I used an 85 amp hour battery with the Carver mover

My van is nearly always on charge either on the car or on the 230V

I now have a 110 map hour battery on the Senator Oklahoma which is fitted with the Powrtouch auto actuator mover and last week I had my drive resurfaced (at last) so I needed to park the van at a friends house

This involved moving the van about 100yd up his twisting steep drive with lots of stopping and starting as his bushes were brushing the van sides

The same distance was repeated 5 days later (no battery charging) and then it had to be moved up our drive which is quite steep

I purposely didn't ask my friensd to charge the battery and it passed the test with flying colours

Hi Andrew,

I fitted a Powrtouch mover to my Bailey Ranger 470/4 last year and it took me 2 to 3 hours. It's worth shopping around to get the best fitted price as they do differ from supplier to supplier.

We had an 85amp battery and this provided more than enough power for the mover to get the van up quite a steep drive.

Martin.

Hi Andrew

I fitted my Powrtouch 3 on my Amara gw 1450kg 3 weeks ago. I use the van 850a/hr battery thats 3 years old and its OK on my drive. The slope varies between 1 in 6 and 1 in 9. I will replace it with a 110 on next change.

Powrwheel operate a price match against any comparable unit. I needed a heavy duty and searched the web for a comparable unit and the nearest was an Enduro. I contacted Powrwheel and they matched the price

Andrew

I had a 100a/hr battery fitted when I had a 4 wheel Powrtouch system fitted 18 months ago - never a problem with having enough power but battery always on charge via on site hook ups and a hook-up at home - just a problem with the mover!!
