I'm considering purchasing a Powrtouch mover. My caravan is 1300kg. Powrtouch have a "Standard" and a "Heav duty" mover. They've recommended the Heavy Duty as they say the weight of the van is at tthe top end of the Standard's capabilities. I don't need the mover to get the van up a steep incline, just to move it on to our flat drive. Does anyone have a Standard model on such a van ?

Hi Martin,

I had a standard powrtouch mover on my old fleetword colchester

Mtplm was 1350kg (Probably more by the time the missus had loaded it) Worked a treat even up a rather steep driveway.

Cheers Jim

Me, I'd take Powrtouch advice. My first van fitted with a mover was about the same weight and while standard was ok in good gonditions, on sandy pitches or when the gap really needed adjusting it struggled.

Hi

I also have a 1300kg van and have the Powertouch3 "Heavy Duty".

My dealer at the time said they would only fit the Heavy Duty models these days on this weight of van.

I would take Powertouch advice.

Hi Martin,

My caravan weighs 1311kg and Powertouch recommended the heavy duty model - I would go along with their advice, they no what they are doing.

Cheers,

Ron

We've got the heavier duty PowrTouch 3 on our 1390kg van and it's fantastic. You might not have a steep incline at home but the mover comes in very handy on site where you could face all sorts of conditions. Ours managed a steep muddy hill climb when the car towing couldn't! Would highly recommend this product.

Also meant to say that these movers can be transferred between caravans so by buying the heavier duty model you're future proofing your purchase (unless you go for a TA next time!)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the warranty. If you do not follow their advice you won't be covered if anything goes wrong. In the same way they wouldn't price match for an advert I had seen for another mover as they said we needed the heavy duty model.

I have the Powrtouch Twin on my TA. Only two motors but it does very well . Turning is much harder than a single but I'm very pleased with the performance.

Cheers
