Powrtouch service

Due to head off for a few days with the van this morning so yesterday afternoon turned the van around on the driveway with the mover as part of the preparation for the trip. When disengaging the rollers there was what I can only describe as an alarming bang, wasn't sure what caused it, the rollers did disengage fully though. Phoned up Powrtouch to ask for their advice, that was at 3pm and by 7pm last night their engineer was out and attending to the mover.
A lot of companies related to the caravan industry get slated for their customer service so think it's only fair to give credit where it's due. My thanks to Powrtouch and particularly to Jamie, their local engineer for coming out last night. Excellent service.

Whale also give excellent after care.

Can't say for the Reich mover as the 10 year old mover hasn't failed yet, unless having to replace the pp3 battery in the handset counts as a failure. And replacing both grit rollers with alloy ones at 7 years old.

Never had a problem with the mover on our caravans so no experience of service. Our new one has a Powertouch and glad to see they are helpful if the worst happens.

Always lovely to hear a tale of great customer service, glad they got your caravan sorted quickly and it didn't ruin your holiday!
Would you mind if we used this post as a short letter in the next issue? Would be nice to flag up their service.
Thanks, Stacie

It might be an idea to conduct a mover reliability survey of your readers. I know Powrtouch have more units out there than other makes and they reportedly give excellent after sales service but it seems to me that I read far more posts about problems with their movers than anyone else's. 🤔

Bought a secondhand Reich mover for spares not needed anthing, sold the remote and recovered most of the money still got the rest 🙂

The next PC caravan survey might ask more questions on this rather than have another survey. They are one of the largest additional outlays on top of the caravan so opinions might be worthwhile.

We bad a problem a couple of years ago when our powrtouch mover stopped working 4 days before we were due to go on hols to France. First a call to their excellent technical dept who tried to diagnose the fault over the phone but to no avail. Within 24 hours we had an engineer on site to diagnose water damagd on one of the 4 motors. 2 days before leaving a replacement motor was fitted and no problems since. I have alwas accepted in life that even the best quality products or services can fail and the real test is what the companies then do about it. Powrtouch were excellent and although you would rather not have the fault to start with, i lost no faith in their product.

Many years ago we purchased an old caravan which had a powertouch mover fitted. After a few months we had a problem and although the mover was out of warranty and we were not shown on powertouch records they agreed to post the spare part to us free of charge for me to fit or arrange for an engineer to visit and fit the part at a nominal cost..
We have had powertouch movers on all of our caravans since because of the excellent service all those years ago

Just read this after giving my own thumbs up to Sargent, two positive posts in succession. What is the caravan world coming to?
